{"id":478,"date":"2012-01-18T09:46:33","date_gmt":"2012-01-18T13:46:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.payne.org\/?p=478"},"modified":"2012-01-18T09:46:33","modified_gmt":"2012-01-18T13:46:33","slug":"the-sentiment-of-sopapipa-is-fine-the-mechanisms-are-flawed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/payne.org\/blog\/the-sentiment-of-sopapipa-is-fine-the-mechanisms-are-flawed\/","title":{"rendered":"The Sentiment of SOPA\/PIPA is Fine, the Mechanisms are Flawed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It isn&#8217;t often that you see the MPAA on the defensive. \u00a0Their <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mpaa.org\/resources\/c4c3712a-7b9f-4be8-bd70-25527d5dfad8.pdf\">recent release<\/a> about the SOPA\/PIPA blackout, Chris Dodd said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;It is an irresponsible response and a disservice to people who rely on them for information and use their services. It is also an abuse of power given the freedoms these companies enjoy in the marketplace today.
