{"id":374,"date":"2011-07-07T14:07:02","date_gmt":"2011-07-07T18:07:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.payne.org\/?p=374"},"modified":"2011-07-07T14:07:02","modified_gmt":"2011-07-07T18:07:02","slug":"its-all-about-iteration","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/payne.org\/blog\/its-all-about-iteration\/","title":{"rendered":"It&#8217;s All About Iteration"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>With Google+, we&#8217;re now reading the comparisons with Facebook, and the inevitable\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2011\/07\/06\/zuckerberg-first-public-response-to-google-plus\/\">commentary on the\u00a0commentary<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I think Google+ is very interesting (and doesn&#8217;t suck), but it&#8217;s too early to tell how it will play out. \u00a0Google&#8217;s biggest hurdle is not Facebook&#8217;s current feature set, but Facebook&#8217;s ability to iterate product\u00a0functionality.<\/p>\n<p>Facebook isn&#8217;t perfect (the design of Messages pretty broken right now, IMHO), but they&#8217;re very good at trying features out and continually improving and deepening the Facebook experience. \u00a0Small things matter: \u00a0the way you just hit &lt;Enter&gt; to submit status comments makes commenting much more lightweight and chat-line. \u00a0(Contrast Facebook to Twitter, who&#8217;s user experience has been at a virtual stand-still for years).<\/p>\n<p>Google&#8217;s in the race, now let&#8217;s see if they can run it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>With Google+, we&#8217;re now reading the comparisons with Facebook, and the inevitable\u00a0commentary on the\u00a0commentary.
