{"id":260,"date":"2010-04-22T20:29:43","date_gmt":"2010-04-23T00:29:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.payne.org\/?p=260"},"modified":"2010-04-22T20:29:43","modified_gmt":"2010-04-23T00:29:43","slug":"ipad-quirks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/payne.org\/blog\/ipad-quirks\/","title":{"rendered":"iPad Quirks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>For all the hype, the iPad still has a few quirks\/drawbacks. \u00a0My list:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>No camera.<\/strong> What doesn&#8217;t have a camera these days?<\/li>\n<li><strong>Can&#8217;t charge from most USB ports. <\/strong> They don&#8217;t put out enough power, you have to use a wall-charger. \u00a0This means that you&#8217;ve got to manage two distinct things: \u00a0syncing and charging.<\/li>\n<li><strong>iTunes\u00a0umbilical\u00a0cord.<\/strong> The iPad is nearly a laptop; why do I need to tether it to iTunes to do key operations (like unbox it)? \u00a0Also, why can&#8217;t I sync with iTunes via Wifi?<\/li>\n<li><strong>No printing<\/strong>. \u00a0(built-in support, anyway)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Limited app selection.<\/strong> Expected, but improving. \u00a0iPad apps can be much more complex, so the ramp may be slower than it was for the iPhone.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Given how Apple iterated on the first iPhone, I&#8217;d expect the same thing to happen here. \u00a0I love my iPad, but I&#8217;d expect iPad 3.0 to be even more impressive.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>For all the hype, the iPad still has a few quirks\/drawbacks. \u00a0My list: No camera.
